A picture of the control room at the EuXFEL during our experiment. On the right side, the beamline scientists control remotely the delivery of the X-rays to the sample; the actual experiment occurs behind the right wall, in a lab that is sealed when the X-rays are on. On the left side, computers were set to show images of our liquid microjets after they were hit by the XFEL pulses. In the back, there is a room containing the computers for the remote control of the X-ray cameras used to record crystal diffraction. Most of our team is not in the image, but in labs three floors above, preparing protein cystals and analyzing the recorded data.
